Warning notes:
-
No fall protection! The free-standing handrail is not a substitute for professional fall protection and should not be used as a railing, as it offers insufficient protection due to the lack of infill between the posts. Only use the free-standing handrail as a handrail in places that do not require a railing. E.g. in the middle of a staircase to divide the direction of travel or at low heights.
-
Use suitable fastening material! Only use fastening material suitable for your substrate. Screws, plugs and/or heavy-duty anchors must match your floor and be suitable for stainless steel.
Observe building law! Please always observe applicable building law! The laws were created for a reason and are there to protect you.
-
Note the care instructions! Please note that stainless steel must be cleaned regularly and generally cared for. Otherwise, the material may lose its rust-proof properties.
-
Rust hazard! This stainless steel has only a low resistance to chemicals and acids in particular. For this reason, we must advise against using it in aggressive environments, as it damages the corrosion protection and could lead to material failure. For example, it is not recommended for use near pools, in cities with high levels of air pollution and in places in close proximity to the sea!
Installation instructions:
Please read the following instructions carefully before starting installation. Please also note that although it is generally possible to assemble alone, we recommend that at least two people do it, as it makes the work much easier.
As the holes in the base plate may be positioned differently from post to post, please start by marking the posts. For example, you can write individual post numbers on the underside of the base plate. This way, you can later see which post belongs in which position.Next, place the posts in the desired positions. Make sure that the handrail saddles are aligned so that the handrail can be attached flush and without tension. We recommend placing the handrail tube on the posts and fixing it to the saddle with adhesive tape to make alignment easier.Carefully lift up the post covers and mark the holes for the base plates on the ground. Now place the posts to one side. Make sure you mark the positions so that you can assign them to the corresponding posts.Drill the marked holes and insert the selected fastening material according to the manufacturer's instructions.Position the posts and hand-tighten the fastening material.
Align the posts, place the handrail on the saddle of the stainless steel posts and secure the tube with adhesive tape.
Now screw the posts in place, observing any manufacturer's instructions for the installation material. Make sure that the posts remain aligned.Make sure that the handrail is positioned as required and transfer the holes in the handrail saddle to the tube.
Take the handrail off the posts and place it on the shipping box.Now drill the threaded holes at the marked points on the handrail tube. A suitable tap for cordless screwdrivers is included in the scope of delivery for this purpose. We strongly recommend tapping the holes before drilling!
Place the handrail on the posts again and screw it in place using the screws included in the scope of delivery.
Care instructions:
Please note that the free-standing handrail must be cleaned and maintained at regular intervals. If this maintenance is not carried out, or only insufficiently, the material may lose its rust-proof properties. You can use commercially available, non-acidic cleaning agents for cleaning. Please also note that the occurrence of occasional flash rust cannot be ruled out. Flash rust should be removed as quickly as possible to avoid any damage to the material.
